Physical Therapy

The mission of Lutheran Home’s Physical Therapy and rehabilitation department is to assist older adults in achieving optimal physical function and mobility. Because regular physical activity offers substantial improvements in health and well-being, the physical therapy department includes a variety of equipment including Airdyne bicycle, a recumbent cross trainers and a Landice treadmill. Exercise is one of life’s joys and research has shown that it’s never too late to start exercising.

Treatments Include (but are not limited to):
· Moist heat treatments
· Ultrasound
· Massage
· Electrical Stimulation
· Training in donning and use of orthotics and
prosthetics
· Balance and coordination training
· Tilt table
· Treadmill
· Therapeutic exercise

Physical Therapy Staff inlcude Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants who average15 years of experience in stroke rehabilitation, hip/knee rehabilitation and fracture rehabilitation. In addition to our Physical Therapy staff, an Orthopedic Surgeon makes routine visits to assess the progress of individuals rehabilitating from surgery or a fracture.
